Prof. Yong  Yang and Prof. Huamin Zhang from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences were awarded the 5th China Electrochemistry Contribution Award at the 19th National Electrochemistry Conference and International Electrochemistry Forum on Energy and Environment. The National Electrochemistry Conference is held once every two years. This conference is jointly organized by Shanghai Institute of Electric Power and Fudan University and held in Shanghai International Convention Center with more than 2800 participants.

China electrochemical contribution is an important academic award issued by the Chinese chemical society electrochemical commission, its major awards in the past decade in the study of electrochemical science and technology make a significant innovation and systematic results of electrochemical workers, except the electrochemical contribution on China, electrochemical committee has also set up the Chinese electrochemical achievement award, such as electrochemical youth award for reward. Prof. Shigang Sun and Prof. Changjian Lin won the first (2009) and the third (2013) China Electrochemistry Contribution Award respectively.

Yong Yang is the Distinguished Professor of Minjiang Project at Xiamen University and the Director of the Institute of Electrochemical Science and Engineering at Xiamen University. His main research interests include energy electrochemistry, material physical chemistry and surface physical chemistry. He was awarded the Technical Achievement Award of the International Association for Battery Materials (IBA) (2014), the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars (1999), the national candidate of the "New Century Millions of Talents Project" of the Ministry of Personnel (2004), the Special Government Allowance of the State Council (2006), and the visiting scientist of Oxford University. Now as j.
