Professor Yong Yang's research group "M2L Team" won the second prize in the 2nd Energy Electronics Industry Innovation Competition

On December 3-4, 2024, hosted by the Industrial Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, The second Energy Electronics Industry Innovation Competition and the third Advanced Energy Storage Technology Innovation Challenge, organized by China Academy of Automotive Engineering, successfully held the "New Energy Storage Life Simulation and Prediction Technology Special Competition" for new energy storage products in Chongqing, The competition track is supported by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. This competition has attracted research, technical, and experimental personnel as well as students from multiple domestic research institutes, universities, enterprises, and institutions to register and participate. The participating units include well-known universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Xiamen University, and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Renowned enterprises such as BYD Energy Storage, Huizhou Yiwei Lithium Energy Co., Ltd., and State Grid Comprehensive Energy Service Group, as well as doctoral students and their research and development personnel from research institutes such as China North Vehicle Research Institute and Guizhou Power Grid Electric Power Science Research Institute, participated. Professor Yong Yang's research group "M2L Team" (Mechanism × Machine Learning) from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University successfully advanced to the offline final prediction competition and work defense, and ultimately stood out and won the second prize. It is reported that this sub track will receive one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and four excellent prizes in the selection process. Those who pass the preliminary screening and advance to the offline finals will receive the nomination award. This is the first time that students from Xiamen University have participated in this competition and have won the second prize in the final for the first time.
